On Monday 28th September 2009, the DSA introduced "Case Studies" into the theory test.
As well as the question with multiple choice answers, there are now some questions being asked in a case study format. These take the form of a scenario or short story and a question is asked in relation to the story. Initially, the case study questions are being based on exsisting theory questions but plans for the future include introducing other case study questions designed to test candidate's understanding of what they have learnt. This is a real step forward as some pupils try to learn the theory bank of questions "parrot fashion" without understanding the information.
